Stephen Smith

Stephen brings a wealth of experience to AlwaysON, having held senior positions in three leading UK telecare organisations, Cirrus Communications Systems, Tunstall Telecom and Modern Vitalcall.  At Cirrus, Stephen developed the UKs largest social alarm monitoring centre service with some 90,000plus connections and grew the maintenance service to become the UKs largest third party repair organisation. Stephen also spearheaded the development of what has become the UKs most successful PABX based social alarm, a development that is now replicated by most of the key players in the UK.  Appointed an advisor to the Director General of OFTEL in 1998, Steve provided advice at the DIEL group until the demise of OFTEL in 2003. Steve has operated internationally, establishing markets for social alarm systems in Spain and Australia and partnerships with systems providers throughout the EU.
